Frequently Asked Questions

Parc Independent Living FAQs

What is the difference between independent living and assisted living?

Independent Living at Parc at Piedmont provides active, retirement-age adults with a stimulating, independent lifestyle. Parc at Piedmont’s hospitality-oriented retirement living offers unmatched service, style, friendships and fun to its residents, while providing families with the comfort of knowing their family members are safe and secure in their own fully appointed apartment homes.  Assisted Living and/or Personal Care is a more comprehensive level of licensed care available to residents who need regular assistance with activities of daily living. Parc at Piedmont’s Personal Care Home offers supportive care thoughtfully tailored to meet the unique needs of each resident.

What does full-service senior living mean?

Full-service living at Parc at Piedmont means that virtually all of your lifestyle essentials are included. Your apartment home, daily fine dining, concierge service, social activities and events, fitness and wellness programs, educational and recreational activities, housekeeping, maintenance, scheduled transportation, most utilities and the 24/7 support of Parc’s exceptional service staff are all included in your monthly service fee. There are no additional association fees or common area assessments, and tipping of Parc staff is expressively prohibited.

Why is Independent Living at Parc at Piedmont a better option than staying in my home?

As we get older and our mobility decreases, we often find ourselves isolated. It becomes harder to stay connected with friends and family. As a result, our social lives, intellectual pursuits, diet and wellness begin to ebb. At the same time, our worries about day-to-day issues like home maintenance, safety and health tend to increase. Before long, we realize that we aren’t enjoying life the way that we should. Parc at Piedmont provides the opportunity to recapture the excitement of life, secure among friends in the comfort and stability of a lifestyle choice that is a true economic value.

What makes Parc at Piedmont so different from other senior living options in the area?

While Parc at Piedmont is certainly proud of our beautiful community, spacious apartment homes and excellent food, it is our people that distinguish Parc from every other senior living community. Parc Communities operate upon the premise of “ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen.” These service standards were developed for Parc Communities by Horste Schulze, the former president of Ritz-Carlton hotels, and every attentive, responsive, relaxed and friendly member of Parc at Piedmont’s staff is trained to uphold this exceptional standard of excellence.
